NPF Urban Arts Initiative

The Noah Purifoy Foundation provides middle school students and classroom teachers a cross-disciplinary arts curriculum about African-American artist and sculptor Noah Purifoy (1917-2004.) The Foundation's artists and board members, who were Noah's friends and colleagues, have developed a detailed, standards-based interactive curriculum about Noah's life, work and the Outdoor Desert Museum of Assemblage Sculpture in Joshua Tree, CA. In 2023 we partnered with Side Street Projects, another community based organization focusing on “the needs of artists, youth and the community at large” to provide coordination and teaching artists for in-class and field trip activities.
